If you listened to the weather report yesterday (Sunday 9/16/12) you missed out! NOAA was calling for up to 5' waves. Even when a rain cloud passed by around 10:00 the waves were only 2-3. Most of the day was flat to 1-2'. Dirty water close to shore due to the rain run off did not affect the deeper reefs in Jupiter. Vis was 80' and temp was low 80's... And the current, you ask? None. Zero. Zip. I could swim south with the bouy line; incredible. A far cry from two weeks ago when the current was sceaming at 3-4 knots to the north. We dove around 100'. I shot one hog fish. And the bugs, you ask? We limited out on the first dives. The diving was effortless. The only hard part was picking though the smaller bugs to get the big ones. I saw 4 groups of 10 or more bugs (at least half were shorts), and several holes with 1, 2, 3 , 4 or more. I didn't see any trap lines this week. Yea! So what does a hungry diver have for dinner? Lobster pizza, of course. Yum.

Great job on the bugs!

Hey forget NOAA when it comes to local wave heights. You are better off looking at local beach and inlet cams, along with current wind conditions. NOAA is much to busy, burning money on their taxpayer funded party boats and self aggrandizing bonus outings.

Although the Bouy Sites with wave hieght, period and temperature is handy. Unfortunatley there are still thermoclines they do not measure but still a great source of predive information.
