[FONT=verdana,arial,sans-serif]Power Scuba Member,
A huge thank you to our renewing Sponsor, Dietz, Gilmor & Chazen. They've just signed on to sponsor us for another year and we couldn't be happier. If an initial Sponsor is a show of excellent support, then a renewing Sponsor is saying, "We really know who you are and like what we see"! Thanks to them and Power Scuba member, Avery Chazen, for believing in us!
Thanks too to Northrop Grumman (a local defense contractor) for contributing $200 to Power Scuba under their Employee Volunteer Organization Support program. Many companies have similar programs wherein an employee who volunteers a certain amount of charitable work for the community each year can get their companies to support the participating non-profit org with financial donations. (I hear, also, employees with unions at work can direct their union dues go to a non-profit of their choice.)
Welcome and thank you to our newest Organizer, Fred Melnick. Fred's a retired US Navy Officer who's been with us for years. He's looking forward to facilitating the occasional shore and boat dives with Power Scuba. Glad to have you aboard, Fred!
Speaking of Organizers: We're always on the lookout for members whose motivation, loyalty, energy, and love of diving transcends the ordinary. That could mean YOU! Contact Jonathan or Bill to talk about lending a hand with our worthy non-profit Org. (NOTE: Organizers {and regular members} may not solicit other members for outside trips, training, for-profit, or non-profit endeavors.)
Perhaps you've heard of our Photography seminars, Photo of the Month activity, and Fish ID classes? All free and all fun. Check out our main site to sign up for these ongoing events!
Scuba Show (and the after parties) was a blast. I'm glad so many of you made it up to Long Beach and represented us so well. (You couldn't walk down an aisle without seeing a Power Scuba t-shirt!)
As always, there's a lot more coming up. Check our site frequently for super-fun dive events and unannounced gems!
Bill, Supreme Benchwarmer
