Andy is really excited about this dive. His dive computer is fixed and he has been taking medication for allergies for 2 weeks now in anticipation for it. If we can't possibly get two more to go I would be willing to go to an alternate location that is not as far out because of fuel prices for this Sunday and then we can reschedule the Avocet and YDT for an alternate date. I still want to go this weekend!!!

Oh, we're going. Even if it's the 3-mile barge and the dredge outside the pass - we're going!

Hopefully, we can at least do the bridge rubble and a liberty ship...

I tried to talk my wife into letting me go on Fathers' Day but, it's not going to happen. Any other day, I can go. I'm booked for the Oriskany on August 23 with MBT Divers Dive shop Pensacola, FL. I wouldn't mine going once before then too. Maybe we all can setup a trip through GGD and go out.

Is Gary willing to go with 4 of us?

I believe he is still willing to go, but most likely it would be for more. We need to call Gary to find out, or maybe he will post.

NOAA had upgraded sea conditions for a couple days and they have now downgraded back to what they said originally. Here is the current forecast:

SUNDAY
NORTHWEST WINDS AROUND 10 KNOTS BECOMING SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST
10 TO 15 KNOTS IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 1 TO 2 FEET. BAYS AND COASTAL
WATERWAYS SMOOTH BECOMING A LIGHT CHOP. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS.

SUNDAY NIGHT
SOUTHWEST WINDS AROUND 10 KNOTS BECOMING WEST TO
NORTHWEST 5 TO 10 KNOTS LATE. SEAS 1 TO 2 FEET. BAYS AND COASTAL
WATERWAYS MOSTLY SMOOTH. ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

Andy and I will go either way if conditions allow. We will either pay more or go to an alternate location if no one else signs up. We are just ready to go!!!! :)

I PM'ed both Donna and Andreas and they both sounded interested. I'm just not sure if they are going to be able to go or not. We may just find out what we have on Sunday morning. I am willing to pay more to go within reason. We may have to go to an alternate location, but we will cross that bridge on Sunday when we know how many we have.

So if anyone is thinking about going please call GGD at 251-968-4279 http://gulfdiver.net/

I just spoke with Gary. The trip is on, but the destination may or may not change. We'll work something interesting out - not the sewerage outfall pipes, nor the 3-mile barge/pass dredge.

Still only 4 divers.

I was at Dive Pros today (6-13-08) and talked with two groups that went out and they said the visibility on the Oriskany was 70. The other group went to the Pete Tide and they said that the visibility was 30. Sounds like in shore stuff isn't that great right now. Off shore sounds like the best bet. Thats why I wanted to go out to the Avocet and YDT's since they are a ways out.

Gary didn't say that the site would change, and I'm not averse to adding a little $$ incentive to get to the Avocet/YDT's. I just need to get back into the water!
