Really? Don't think so. The bungee is just long enough to make the reg fit just underneath my chin. If needed I don't need my hands to grab it in my mouth. I donate my primary reg and at the same time I can take my back up. It's secured with the tie strap which secures the mouth piece. Totally DIR compliant.
