Wow..
Why didn't I see those things on my dives there in November!
Oh right.. our DM was on a race or something.
Those are great shots and really point out the diversity there.
Is the ghostpipefish a year round denizen of Julian Rocks or just a summer visitor?

These just confirm I must get back to dive Julian Rocks again -- it is such a wonderful dive site.

Very nice photos! I am impressed by the diversity. Could you please recommend a dive operator in Byron Bay as I will be visiting at the end of the month and I would like to get in at least one day of diving. Thanks

Great images Mark !! Congrats on the purchase, you must be happy.

The scribbled nudi - Doriopsilla miniata? We have them here as well.

Thats because I wasn't there to show you all the cool things ;-)

The Ghostpipefish are more of a summer/warm water visitor. Recently there has been alot of sightings of them. Yesterday I found 6 out and about.

I would agree that Sundive was a good operation. We did feel that the DM was too intent on going somewhere and we just couldn't keep up with him and actually see stuff at the same time. (A problem if you want to see small stuff and take pictures). He went on his way while we explored a bit and when we went back to where the boat WAS, it had moved over to another site. No problem.. they saw us. On the second dive we tried to keep up with him, but I pretty much ran out of air just chasing him. It's a shame as we only had allocated time for 2 dives.
So.. let them know what kind of dive you want .. or do your own thing.

Hi AndyT, yes the Doriopsilla miniata. Its not as common species though.

I had issues with the settings at first especially for macro but I soon fixed them. Really enjoying the D90 and very happy with the results. Noticable step up from the D80.

Regards Mark
