I had a pretty good weekend. We went out for dinner Sunday night and I had lobster but resisted the sweet potato pie. For me this is a major accomplishment.

The downside is I fell hard on my bike. I chipped my tooth, and have some very bad face scrapes and bruises.
I might have to take up walking for the daily..nah..I'll be back biking soon.

Natasha,

Sorry to hear about your fall... I hope your tooth wasn't chipped too bad. :11:

Great job of the "Sweet Potato Pie"!!!! Hearing of your strength and determination will help me ignore the "Penult Butter Cup" Ice Cream that I discovered in the fridge!

(Oh My!... The "Celery" is really looking good right about now!)

And... if you believe "THAT"........... Oh never mind!!!! ;)

Hope you feel better soon!

Have a great day!

Donnie

Well, my strength training regimen this past weekend was to move approx 6500 pounds of dirt, gravel, sod, sand and bricks - new patio extension - all by hand :P

Meals were small and protein packed. Jen and I did go out for Milkshakes/Soda Floats when we were done last night. I'm glad that I have been working out though, because I actually feel pretty good. I thought that I would be a lot more sore. I'll post pix when we're done (almost there)!

Well, off to bed...

Hey Natasha, isn't this the second time in recent history that you gotten hurt riding your bike? You might need to find another form of exercise. :)

In all seriousness, I hope you recover quickly so that you can get back to doing your favorite exercise.

SOrry about the chipped tooth natasha - but it gives you that "tough:" look :-)

Sat was my free day, so let's not go there.... :)

Sun - bagel with cream cheese and coffee - so my free day stretched a bit...
Lunch - smoothie and sugar free pnut butter cookie
dinner - teri flank steak, brown rice and salad
dessert - two tofutti cuties
exercise - plant flowers :)

Mon - Breakfast - yogurt and apple
lunch - caesar salad, carrots with ranch dressing (I know, too much dressing)
bad snack - mini twix bar
dinner - chicken and brown rice no veggies cus it was just too late - 9 pm
dessert - 1/2 cup nonfat milk, protein bar and cutie (I can obviously cut back in this area......)
exercise - swim 2800 yds

Reading back through the posts... Natasha, remind me never to go biking with you. You're a crazy woman! Seriously though, I hope you mend quickly. I've broken a couple of helmets in my rowdy down-hill days and I know how much highspeed oral soil sampling hurts. :)

Mostly small (and fewer than normal) meals over the weekend. Been working like crazy on the patio in order to get it done before this weekend. I'm amazed that I am still going strong. Must be all of the weight lifting :P I'll have to make sure I take 3 month pictures with tomorrow's weigh-in.

Monday night had a good salad that I'd like to share:
Small bed of oriental noodles topped with strips of carrot, cabbage and whole dandelion greens
top that with pieces of marinated, grilled steak
add some avacado, mango and tomato
then, sprinkle some peanuts, thai peanut sauce and a few mint leaves.

sounds good, huh? Just watch the portions, it's easy to make this a '3-meal' pile of food :)

Leftover beef served with grilled veggies on whole pita bread last night.

Breakfast, lunches and snacks have been the standard slimfast meal bar or fruit/yogurt and cottage/mozarella cheese.

I've been biking about 18-25 miles on rolling hills to plain up hills (it seems like i'm going up hill no matter which direction I'm going). Some days I feel great and others it is just a struggle to peddle but I keep the goals in sight, I've also added swimming and running to the mix, this helps with not doing the same thing all the time. What I have noticed though is my weight has stabalized and moved up some what (muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less space), but my waist has continued to drop in inches, so my weight goal is not the end all, but how my clothes fit.

Hi everyone,
I just started the fitness challenge yesterday and this is my first journal post. I became complacent and gradually stopped exercising and eating right so now I have about 30lbs to lose. I'm going back to what I know works for me which is 5 small meals a day consisting of lean protein, whole grains and lots of fresh veggies and water. I do at least 30 min of cardio daily which is either the treadmill, cycling or swimming. In addition, I include a couple of strength training sessions weekly. Like the previous poster, I don't stay glued to the scale but like to count sizes instead. Looking forward to fitting back into my fave pair of jeans! Gotta go - treadmill is calling me :)

Speaking of salads, I had a terrific salad this last Saturday. We went for lunch at TGIF and they have a salad called Strawberry Fields, it is really good. I had grilled chicken on it and it was so large that I boxed up half of it and had it for supper. The dressing that they put on it is a Basalmic Vinegrette, and the strawberries are cut into small half size pieces, it is really good. I was able to eat that with no bread or other crackers. So I did good with it and some iced tea sweetened with Splenda.

I see my Dr. for my monthly weigh in this afternoon. Hope she is glad to see that I have increased my exercise more.

Yesterday, I had someone stop me and say "Cindy, are you losing more weight??" That made my day.
