Hey maybe once they make the movie, Gary Gentile will make a not as enjoyable, but more believable version?

I imagine the movie will have many "liberties" taken to make it worthy of gaining ticket sales at the box office to pay for production costs.... any movie does that.

As for Gentile, I doubt he'll be invited to the premire.

But what will Hollywood change to make the film have wider appeal? Some suggestions:

- Wahoo will be loaded with armed torpedos, and spear gun wielding divers intent on killing the the Seeker's divers to protect the secrets of some deep dark cult.

- U-869 contains Hitler's DNA which was secretly being shipped to the US to for cloning by **** sympathisers.

- John and Ritchie develop superpowers - John can make retractable dive knives come out between his fingers and Ritchie can fly.

- Half the divers on the Seeker will be female, and New Jersey will become sufficiently warm that they are able to dive in bikinis (or U-869 gets moved to the Caribbean).

- Feldman and the Rouses are tragically killed by a 70 foot sea monster.

- they will have to fend off frenzied great white sharks while on deco stops

- the O2 bottle that blows up John's garage will be portrayed as an attack by German intelligence operatives meant to deter him from identifying the true identity of the sub

- Instead of being grounded by his wife, Richie will be held in captivity by agents of a hostile Government.

I'm still thinking about the Atlantic Wreck Divers but I think Jeff Pagano (Hate Man) could be played by Joe Pesci pretty well.

The one thing I do not want to see is all new "pretty" gear. It has to have ugly used and beaten up stuff with a bunch of home made Jersey Reels, independent doubles w pony bottles, wreck bags, large crow bars, and lots of duct tape.

I'm looking here for info on the movie also. I know it isn't in production yet. I can't find any info on spots being filled.
I just hope when it gets done, it gets good writting and is well made. It is a great story and no changes need be made. How it happened is the stuff of good films are made from.

It was supposed to be released in 2008. I visited U-505 in Chicago and the security guard told me that John and some movie folks had been there recently.

But still no movie....
