We built and placed a new large platform in the quarry yesterday. It's approx. 16 1/2' X 12 1/2'. It's HUGE! And nice too. We will be building a 2nd platform at approx 28' down, the same dimensions. The first platfrom will be at around 17 ft.

We will be going back to the quarry this Saturday morning. Meeting up there around 9 a.m. Everyone is invited. Surface temp is 42-43 and it is around 38 @ 30 ft. We all actually dove wet and were fine.

We are talking about camping..Not for sure yet. We sure do wish we had camped yesterday. Weather was perfect and we dove till the sun went down. LONG LONG DAY. Viz is about 30-40 ft. right now.

Woohoo sounds like you had fun!! I hope I will be joining you on Saturday the 22ed. Glad that the building is going well.

Well now that the snow is all gone, or atleast the local ski area is closed I am really getting the itch to dive. Too bad I have to work on Satruday or would come freeze my butt off. Sure would be nice to have 30-40 feet of viz in a quarry though.

thanks aj.. i found it ..its about a 4 hour drive from where i am..so you mean to tell me that theres no ice there right now?can someone let me know?thanks..

what a dilema I'm in.... going diving or staying home to get the new cd player put in my car....
I'M GONNA GO DIVING!!! Wanna get wet BEFORE we go to Panama City. Can't wait to try out the new wetsuit & dive computer!

Snuggle= there's NO ice at the quarry. Water was cold (okay, maybe not for some but I prefer warmer water than 42 @ the surface). And I don't think the guys that were there would be crazy enough to dive wet if there were ice! Especially since there wasn't a keg of beer and one of Joe's infamous bonfires waiting for them.:D

Why don't we go to Joe's and dive instead March 22-23? Is that a possibility?
Ber :bunny:

The only days a few of us can go is this Saturday March 22. We will mainly be working on positioning the platform. In April we will be going back several times working on another platform and the new shelter.

I'll be celebrating my B-day Saturday by watching some round ball and working on the car (weather permitting). I might also figure out how to tackle this long-hose dilema for the DIR-F class....I wonder if Home depot sell neon blue 3/8" hose.....
