I made my decision and purchased the Zeagle Brigade, Sherwood wisdom, Aeris Atmos Pro Regulator, and Mares Brigade Viper Octo. Joe was great to work with on the purchase and hopefully I wont have to exchange the BC for a different size.

thanks for all the advice

Backplate and wing. It's the hands-down favorite for tech diving. Don't worry, enjoy your equipment and dive for a couple of years before you think about tech diving. :)

no worries - every BC thread has to have BP/W mentioned at least once or we all forget that this is Scubaboard ;) it's practically tradition to have it show up... though I'm surprised it took till post 12 :D

And congratulations on your new BC - have fun diving it now!

Based on sheer volume of good reports, as opposed to any personal experience, I'd vote for the Zeagle. I would consider repair, however... do you have any local Zeagle shops you can turn to for repair, or do you have to ship it back? ScubaToys is an outstanding shop, but if you need something taken care of by the time you get off work tomorrow, they may not be able to help you in time due to the sheer distance.

actually from the folks I've met who have dealt with returns and service from Scubatoys, they are faster (including the shipping times) than most local shops I know of ;)

Aloha, Tim

I live in Dallas, love ScubaToys, love Zeagle, own a Brigade; but if I was a PNW diver with aspirations of continued training, I would be looking at a BP/W right off the bat.

And I am not even a BP/W guy :)

aLittletank, As far as service goes, I know that Underwater sports has several locations throughout the seattle area and they sell/service Zeagle products. Good luck with your new gear and happy diving.

Zeagle all the way - I have a Zeagle Zena and love it! As the DiveMaven has said before, "a corset with a wing. Doesn't get much better than that for a girl!" My dive buddy uses a Zeagle Brigade. Best of all, I love the customization options that my Zeagle BC offers.
