Hi all,

I'm looking at changing up to just taking videos. I've been taking stills with my dc10000 and a couple of strobes for a few years now and it's been great fun. However for the last year I've fairly exclusively taken low def (640x480) video with it, using the native red filter software in the camera.

I'm ready to change up gear a bit. I'm looking at the Intova sport HD II, it's appealing because the bang/buck ratio is nice. Enough LCD to have some idea what my frame looks like, small foot print, fairly decent angle (140 degrees)....for $150.

The other thing I'm looking at is the Galaxy intova light, 2500 lumens - nice price, 140 degree light. Here's my question - with a 140degree wide beam, on 2500 lumens how much color penetration (for lack of a better term) do you think I'll get during the day (blue water, typically 100' vertical vis)? That is how far do you think I can be away from a subject and pull some color out of it, avoiding bluish reef heads, etc?

I have primary night dive lights that are only a couple hundred lumen that can penetrate 5-6 feet during the day, but the beam is fairly narrow.
