I was just wondering what women thought of jetfin sizes compared to shoe size etc? I understand that men and womens shoe sizes are different, that is why i cant be sure which "size" to get my GF (not trying on in LDS as only SP dealers in town are not friendly - lets say - so i am looking out on ebay). I have seen may large xl and a few mediums, looked on SP website and other places and they said that the mediums fit sizes 7-8 (mens sizes i assume), what size would a 7.5 (womens) be in a wetsuit bootie be and what size jetfin would cover that kind of bootied foot size?

BTW, i am also on the lookout for me, but my foot size would be comparable with those stated on the SP website as a XL (although only just as i am 10.5-11, depending on who measures!).

Thanks again for your help ladies, Simon

Hi Simon.

I don't wear Jet fins so I can't comment on them specifically. Typically however, men's shoe sizes are 1.5 sizes smaller than a woman's size. (ex. woman's size 7.5 = men's size 6) With boots and fins I've used the formula usually works.

If you want jet fins for the dry suit take M. Otherwise take S. Jet fins are big. I tried L for wet suit boots and they were too big. But they already had springs. With normal straps I probably would manage.
Anyway S - size were the best and I have European shoe size 38.

My sister wears the Large, though her feet are big for a woman (size 10 -- she is tall). It is a lot smaller than the XL Jet Fin though. I wear an XL Jet Fin and size 11 shoes (men's).

We both have hard-soled wetsuit booties. Mine are a snug fit (most other hard soled booties won't fit). So the choice of the footwear will make a difference in your decision too.

I wear medium jet fins with my wetsuit booties. My shoe size is about 7 1/2. If she plans on going to a drysuit with rock boots, then she will need size large to work with the rock boots. I got my medium jet fins, brand new on ebay for $25 and put on the spring straps afterwards.

Well i just bought a set of mediums off ebay for $17 (inc shipping), so we shall see what comes of that. She only has a soft soled 5mm bootie, maybe we will get a harder soled bootie when the time comes. Now on to look for my jets, thanks for your help.

Simbrooks, I bought a pair of meds for my wife, who also has a 5mm soft soled booties. She's a 5 1/2 shoe size and they fit great. I bought them on Ebay having been used only once. I, however, wasn't so lucky. Mine were dryrotted and advertised as "in excellent condition." This was about 2 months ago and I'm still waiting for the seller to refund me; she's had the fins for about 3 weeks now. So what I did was to buckle down and bought a pair of new ones on leisurepro for $62.00 plus shipping. Now I have a brand new pair of jets with my halcyon spring straps. I am a 10.5 shoe size and my fins are size Large. They also fit good, but if I wanted to wear drysuit boots (don't know why) I'd need a pair of XL.

Leave the warm shores and go into cave country, might find a use for a drysuit there! Thanks for the info, so hopefully the medium should fit her - will await their arrive and the reaction from Becky.
