Vinegar and ammonia are supposed to prevent unfired stinging cells from firing. Meat tenderizer helps neutralize the poison.

My dive buddy was stung by jellyfish on every 15' safety stop in North Carolina for the 1st 2-3 days of diving. He used the Safe Sea sunscreen on the last day or two and didn't get stung and the jellies were still there because I was stung on those days.

Thanks Phil. I just bought some of this for my upcoming trip & I'm glad to know it's now gonna work! I'll buy some from you next time I go.

Just be sure to put Safe Sea on liberally on all exposed skin. When I got stung in early July on the Georgia coast, I applied it, but apparently not well enough. I have used it before with good results.

Don't put it on the areas covered by your mask. If it gets in your eyes, it stings.

Thnx for the tip Susan. Knowing me & not wanting to get stung I'd apply it on any exposed skin, including the face. Dumb, Dumb here didn't think about the consequences of water run. I shall be careful.

Great cure: sliced lime. Take half and rub it into the sting. Learned in Belize ... the bonus is you can use the other half for your beer!
