For the metaldetectors I just tell security that I´m trying to adapt to uw-life, step by step, and that its no different than those body-mod people who implant horns on their foreheads...actually egyptian diveresorts propably top the list of metaldetectors/capita . there are a few in each hotel (nevermind that the armed guards dont seem to care when theyre set off....)

As for the kevlar. I´ve survived urchin pins in my thigh without much pain. Don´t think I´d do well taking the same approach to bullets...

I second kidspots request for pics of your plates....

GLE, that spiderweb plate sounds sweet!
Only...will it still stop small caliber arms fire? I´ve been wearing mine underneath a shirt when I visit dangerous places like the us or egypt...

small caliber arms fire???? Don't worry, we mainly use the larger rounds over here now days. :)

OK thats it....

My new DSS ss bp is in a fedex box in Miami as we speak and I am going right out to buy some of those stick on bullet holes that people put on their cars..

Actually we were walking around one of the larger LDS's in town the other day as my GF was preparing to take her OW class - i found myself looking at some of the nice padded BC and wondering again (actually any time i walk into an LDS i wonder if i want anything beyond a fill, have to keep my hands out of my wallet as best i can! - i am sure the LDS's love me and my c-card ;) ). I do kind of recall the hugging, the extra unnecessary padding and had to keep pinching myself that i had made the right choice with the BP/W. Maybe its worthwhile doing a quick rental of a jacket just to recall that feeling periodically? Well i can only guess my GF will buy such a BC in the coming months, me i might buy another SSBP and rig it up for size for my DS for salt water singles diving. I am finding the harness a bear to get out of after diving in my DS even though its quite loose - but i wont add a buckle!!! ;)

My LDS has some of those one of their display tanks - looks funny when you first see it.

I bet the HUB Avant Garde sends him into paroxyisms of sexual nirvana . . .
