Many groundfish stocks are being fished into oblivion, but then again, cetaceans are cuter than groundfish, now aren't they?

I guess consistency is too much to ask for ;)

Exactly, I don't get it when someone says that an animal shouldn't be hunted because they are "beautiful". As I said before... If the population can support it and the hunting is regulated, unlike before 1986, I do not see a reason why the hunting should be stopped. Its funny how people don't mind certain cultural taboos, and yet when it comes to hunting it becomes down-right evil.

If someone is into hunting and the population stocks are there, why not? I don't have a problem with hunters/fishers in general or natives that want to continue a cultural tradition. I think the issue may be with the whale population itself...how many are really out there and is it a fishery that's capable of sustaining such hunting or lethal "scientific" studies?
