i am sorry to hear about the diver's death. i did not know him.

good news on the boat, though, the four missing guys were all found alive:

the fifth was found first, hanging on to the capsized boat. the other four decided to swim for shore and got separated during the night.

I've met Bill and his wife in the past. My previous dive operation was out of Saint Augustine also. I remember him putting his boat in at the boat ramp across from the marina I had my boats in. It is unfortunate to lose a charter captain such as he. He will be missed by all. He was the last dive charter operation out of Saint Augustine.

For those divers that live in NE Florida, and may have known Bill, here are memorial service details:

6:00 pm at Kernen Blvd Baptist church, which is located at 4000 Kernan Blvd South. The church is located near the corner of JTB and Kernan Blvd. Details will be posted at Bill’s website soon.

good article, thank you

He definitley will be missed by myself and my buddies who spent many a saturday or sunday with Bill Offshore Jax. A kinder , gentler man, I dont think I have met. We were in the planning stages of bringing the Seabeast to Pensacola to dive the Big O. I spoke with him Thursday.

Godspeed Bill

Mike
