Denisegg and I did some dives on Saturday during Edd's Cave Adventurer's customer appreciation cookout. Lots of food, fun, and cave divers. Our first dive Denise had some pre-existing reel problems so I ran up and got my reel. We went down the breakdown and back.

Ran into PerroneFord and Jimdiverman, divaholic and wife and lots of other cave divers during the day

2nd dive I had ear clearing problems so we did an OW dive around the fence which is quite pleasant- lots of fish and plant life. I ran a line and we practiced skills which is always nice to do. I hadn't done an airshare in a while and havn't done much with that in sidemount so it was good for both of us.

We got some grub, Denise ironically won the NSS cavern diving manual, and Edd gave my scooter away to somebody else. Thankfully that somebody else was not present because he would've been mugged by a mob of angry cave divers.

Our third dive was fabulous; the egg has become quite a cave woman.

And now the real reason I'm posting- Morrison. Denise wasn't feeling well Sunday and despite the crowd of divers on Saturday, nobody was left on Sunday for me to buddy up with. I decided to stop at Morrison and see how close the boat ramp is to the spring- well it's pretty darn close. Ridiculously close actually. The park has really done a nice job with the boat launch area, it looks really nice. There are "no diving" signs by the boat ramp but somebody I ran into also said those no diving signs were all over the place in the park so maybe they don't mean scuba diving. I doubt it, but regardless I geared up and hopped in and had an awesome dive.

The swim to the spring was really cool because there was a thin layer of tannic water on top which I've never gotten to observe. There was a school of big fish that encircled me and I felt like I was in the ocean. Then I got to the spring and it opened up into beautiful cobalt blue water. Gorgeous! Inside the cavern it was just as we left it, except I saw a huge eel. They've been getting fat while we've been away. Sadly I have no underwater camera to share this with you.

If it's not illegal to enter the water at the boat ramp I don't see any reason to let that keep anybody from diving Morrison.

Thanks for the report Stasia...sounds like a good time. I was land locked this weekend so the report helped. We were laughing about the scooter give away last weekend when we were at Edds. We knew the person who won better not get in the cave with everyone who lost!:D

Glad to hear Denise is getting down in those dark holes. I had a reel issue that I blamed Bugman for last weekend. I messed it up....but Bugman ended up coming out of JB with it in his hand....told him I sure wish I had my camera with me. Would have been a funny picture with him coming out of JB with that "birds nest". I wouldn't have to tell anyone who REALLY made the mess.

Thanks for the report.

Great report, Stasia! And great to see you again! I also saw Perrone, but didn't see Jim this time. And I saw a few other familiar faces. Jenn & I then did a nice little scooter dive back to Stage Rock. Unfortunately, it wasn't with a new N-19!

Great report! :D

Its always great to hear about Jackson Blue Springs, apparently I've never been there - LOL :)

Jay and I popped in for some food and to pick up his drysuit, the new Dive Rite 700 light, and I got an H-Valve. Then we tried to check out the Florida Caverns, but the wait was long, so next time. Oh, and I have photographic proof of Perone in the water.

Stasia is a saint for putting up with me. She is a great mentor. We really had a great day of diving on Saturday. Our plan was to get in some more dives on Sunday but a stomach flu that has been going around in my family over the past couple of weeks finally caught up with me Saturday night and I am still feeling the effects of it. What a time to get sick. :shakehead:
I can attest to Perrone being in the water also. He and his buddy were doing OW drills so Stasia and I decided to join them.
Someone hollered "Hey Denise" from the pavillion as we were entering the water and it was Jim! Great to see you again and looking forward to this weekend.:D

Thanks Stasia!! I still need alot of practice on the multi tasking but your willingness to help me means alot to me!

and I got an H-Valve.

So you're the one that bought the last one they had.:shakehead:....;) I have a left and a right that Edd set up for me on steel 95's in case I wanted to double mount them later but the only problem is when configuring gear it is a little different with each tank because of the positioning of the valves so I was going to get Gordon to swap it out so both would be the same. Edd helped me by repositioning the H on one of the tanks though. I am still working on getting all my gear configuration and hoses routed properly.
