About 8 years ago our instructors had a jacket they put on between dives. It was fleece lined and and it didn't mind getting wet, dried quickly and looked durable. I think it was a Warm Wind or something like that. Looking for something like it.

Could it be TruWest? We wear these in So Cal.

Oceandiv,

They most likely were Warm Wind jackets. That's what I purchased several years ago wihle at Our World Underwater. The premise was that the jacket could be worn over your wet suit, would pull some of the water away from you, and would act a wind breaker. Quite nice and definitely warm. Mine was worn for many years before I went dry and is still worn occassionally.

I did a quick "Google" search and came up with several links so I believe Warm Wind is still in business. I would also think that there are several competative parkas as well given Polarfleece has become much more popular / prevalent. Perhaps non-solely dive related jackets would work, too.

Happy hunting!

Deep Outdoors makes a variety of fleece jackets, some are waterproof. They are usually pretty cheap too. I've got 3 jackets from them all told. They're made pretty well from what I can tell and they wash well too.

If you are looking for a three-quarter length kind of jacket, while you can check out the companies mentioned here, I also know that these kind of jackets are available from companies that make stuff for competitive swimmers. I have a couple from days gone by with a nylon shell and a fleece lining. Might be cheaper to get it from a swim suplier rather than a diving supplier.

My parka is from Lands End, but they no longer make a mens version.

DJ Sports has a swim parka that looks good (in the picture, I haven't seen actually one) and is much cheaper than a "dive" parka.

I have been looking for the same thing. Not necesarily a parka ( I am primarily a WWW), but in the winter/wind/wet even Mexico can be pretty chilly on the boat. Ok, actually I was freezing!!!

so I'm listening too.... open to all suggestions and would like to know what you find. I will keep you posted if I find anything that looks great! Happy shopping!!

God forbid I recommend any product for fear of being accused of being a USIA plant, but I purchased one of their Deck Jackets. It's made of a gortex like material with a fleece liner. Warm as hell.
