Holy crap that was spit-out-my-soda-all-over-the-keyboard funny!

??? The only time you would *ever* put enough air in a vest BC so that you'd feel "constricted" would be at the surface. Even then I find that with a vest BC I need less air in there than I think I do to maintain a good position at the surface. Specific to the Probe, I have the same BC and actually don't find it "constricting" at all compared to the handful of other vest BCs I've tried. And I mean by a long shot. Maybe yours is one size too small for you? :06:

That said, I'd get a Zeagle in a heartbeat if they made a vest BC...

hey thanks so much everyone for the great info i just got back from my LDS today and tried on the ranger and the escape. both feel awesome compared to the oceanic. and the oceanic is right for my size it just didnt feel right on me. i like the light weight escape alot but the ranger has a cool harness with bigger pockets and that roll down one on the one side. it seems alot more stable and can be beaten on. so i think im going to go with the brigade from scubatoys it seems to have the best of both worlds :10: thanks everyone!!!

Simon, that's a Classic Sport, not a Classic. Jeeze buddy, it's more effective when you joke around with the right info. Funny thing, a friend of mine is shopping for a BC. She was in a store that sells Zeagles. The owner was explaining each of the BCs he carries. When he got to the Zeagles, he told her to dump air, she'd need to lean forward and to the right to prevent it from trapping air. Seems others have also noticed it. Yes, the Classic Sport is an excellent option, but he's not looking for a vest, he's looking for a back inflate, why should I suggest a vest? Of course, the squeeze is eliminated if you don't use the chest strap........ Everyone happy now?
Opps i forgot there is no sport in discussing jackets/vests and BP/W with you!! ;) Be surprised that i even recalled what you wear - its been so long since we dove together, but we can change that this weekend!

As for a few things people wonder about with back inflates (or wings for that matter), i dont find they push me forward, either use just enough air to keep you afloat or pump it up and lie back for an easy chair at the surface. I have only had to contort once or twice to squeeze the last drop of air out on a couple of occasions, assuming a horizontal trim it pretty much comes out as and when i want it to.

Their elastic wing is my singles wing and an old version of the manta is my doubles wing, i also have a zeagle SS BP, i hope to soon own a zeagle drysuit and have a couple of the DS5/ZX regs - all of which i am happy to have and feel comfortable and safe using! Another satisfied customer ;)
Go for the Zeagle Expedition GS drysuit. It rocks, and it's quite a bit less than the DUI 450 that it competes with. I use the ZX/DS5 on my travel bottle or deep deco bottle. I used to use it as the secondary, but bought another Apeks ATX50/DS4 to be uniform with my primary. The ZX breathes great.

I am very happy with Zeagle and will purchase more equipment from them in the future.

tell me about it. i think though im just going to stay with the brigade, becuase there is a chance i could be diving in cold water and i can always swap out the bladder for the larger ranger one. plus the stilettos relatively new and i dont want to purchase a bc that is in its first year running. its kinda like buying a new car model the first year in production. it takes some time to find all the little problems and things people dont like with them. the ranger and escape both have amazing feedback on each side while the stilleto is still fresh. ill check back on the stiletto in a year or two and check out what people have to say, im sure it will be great as with all of zeagle products. thanks again everyone!!

You will like it Navyman........as i said earlier in this little running quest of yours I love mine.

Last summer while on vacation I took time to visit every dive shop I could between my little home here on the praire and the great west coast. Got lots of opinions and tried on every BC I could (probally about 30 different models. Most felt real good. I would of been happy with almost everyone of them except for one thing. I suffer from LBSL syndrome (long body short leg). I felt the most comfy in a ranger harness. I hated how most cumberbuns came across the top of my belly button (or higher). The added side effect of my LBSL syndrome is that I have very wide shoulders, and most of the jackets and some of the back inflates tended to push my shoulders forward when inflated. Now I know that you rarely have a BC inflated to the point of full inflation but I wanted total comfort. For me it came when I was introduced to the Brigade. The adjustability of the harness lets my short body have all the comfort it wants. I have learned how to trim it (it pushed me over on my face when I first started wearing it), how to deal with the roll, how to dump all its air, and how to be comfy when hanging out on the surface.

Winter is here and I didn't get much time to dive when it was warmer (who among us does) but I spend a fair amount of time at the LDS pool working on my skills and dreaming of visiting family and friends in florida (like they are really going to actually see me anyway :) ). I don't think you can go wrong with the brigade but that is a choice only you can make, Zeagle products are built to last.

Enjoy
Brian

i use a zeagle 911.works great on singles and even better on doubles.it's a bit big to carry on plane trips, but i carry it anyway.took it to cozumel and to dominica. it's great for wreck diving with a lot of lift.can carry a lot of stuff with it.

Navy,

The Brigade is a good choice. And it will allow the 44# bladder if you choose to go to doubles.

Our northern reps were insistant on making the Zena, Escape and Stiletto bladders with 35# lift so they can all handle cold water single tank use. I'm staying in the SE so I'll take their word for that.

Another word on the Stiletto: It's bladder is made the same as the Escapes except for the material being much tougher and adding the wing attachments, something done on most Zeagles since the Alpha and Beta nearly 25 years ago. The fit is the same PFS as the 2004 Ranger, LTD and Escape.

Over the years when building new BCs, we learned to keep the designs that are tried and true, and only add a few new well tested features. The Stiletto has been tested heavily for over a year now, and most of the components for several years.

(If I ever come across an old Zeagle Advent BC jacket, I'm going to buy it as a gift for Walter! They were so hugg-able.)
