Oh well, next time. Hope to see you both again on August 29. Even though the VIS was not so good, I had a very good time and learned a few more things. For one, I'm getting a compass... probably the suunto wrist mount and get that bungee set up from DSS.
You guys take care................

I look forward to it!

First, the last time I found such a treasure, I was about to attach a lift bag to the anchor when I realized the anchor was too heavy for the bag. So I decided to follow the rhode and just lift the end. Good thing I followed the rhode, the end was tied to a boat.

Funny.............

A few years ago, we were diving the wreck of the Valiant in poor vis and ran a line to the wreck, leaving it in place for the second dive. While we were doing our surface interval, some idiot cut the reel off the line and took it home. I'm still fuming over that one.

Agreed, that would not make me too happy either.

I hope you are kidding, but after diving with some people, you might just be serious!

Bill is completely serious about this one. I was the DM on that same boat on a different day when the same diver came up to me and asked for a lift bag to pick up this great anchor he found with lots of chain. I reminded him about picking up our anchor last time and he assured me that this anchor was not attached to our boat. He even said he followed the chain and didn't find any rope attached to it.

I waited till most of the divers were up and let him go back for it. Guess what!!!! It sure was easy to pull the anchor after that dive with a lift bag attached to it!!!!

Oh well, by the time he got the anchor lifted, all the divers were back on the boat except him.

Holy Smokes! Some folks just don't have a clue.

The anchor I found still had the chain locked under a rock and the rode cut clearly off.

Oh, I know Jeff but I was only in 40' of water. I could have tied the 25lb lift bag to the rode and sent it up for retrieval from topside.

Not to mention you had redundant buoyancy devices anyways considering you were diving dry.
