Welcome (soon) to Maryland. I'm a transplant also, but was lucky enough to end up in the Southern Maryland area right on the Chesapeake Bay. Plenty of diving to be had locally. Not only do you have a multitude of wrecks within reach of Ocean City, there are many in the Bay and rivers associated with it (including a German U-boat, and US world war I and II subs). Check out www.diverssource.com for more info on local diving.

Hi Jackie
Good point. Thinking I'll be able to get away so soon after moving in is probably overly optimistic anyway. Then again, thinking I'll be able to even find all my gear so soon after moving in is probably overly optimistic too.
I've been to DC several times in August. Whew! Although, we've lived in SC and TX and when you compare all 3, TX had to be the worst. All the better reason to go diving!
