Marvintpa and I did our first ice dive of the season. Picked a good day too - it was -25C when we were gearing up

The gear's been in the house for couple hours and is still frozen - looks like ice inside the wing ;-))

this weekend. Two dives to 124' in 72 degree water. You ice divers are crazy! Came up to find four Manatees hovering around our entry point. My gears in the garage, rinsed and now dry. Air temp got up to 78 degrees today. Aww, Florida!

Yes, I dove thursday night. Air temps droppping to the 60's, water temp was 74. Beach dive, off of Hollywood beach, to 20ft, bottom time 75 minutes. Aww, Florida!

Myself and diver joe did the morrisson quarry for 58min and the water temp of 39f was pretty cold outside but very good dive

We had 32F - does not get any lower than that :-(

Martin/Joe - how are you guys diving the quarry - i did not see any lines? PM me if you want

We have our hole right over the plane and we stay at the plane during the whole dive doing skills and trim

The plane is mostly 25ft so we see the hole all the time with no problems and there is no current so there is not much point in a line... Now if it would be the river or somewere with bad viz or a place we didnt know then we would defenitly have a line... We also both have our reels so whenever we dicide to dive away from the plane we run a line

I know a few of the NTD guys did, I dropped in on Rockport to watch. Pretty cold air temps - those drysuits freeze over in no time at all once the diver gets out!

Had the most interesting discussions with Tom and everyone too...

Hi Valda...

As Martin stated we are very familiar with the location. We basically stayed at the Plane and did drills and did one run to the Boat and back...

Last week we had two other divers with us and we used a reel when when droped down to about 60-70ft and explored out of visual range of the hole. We got an hour long dive then too.

Have you dove at Morrison's Quarry? There is a Cabin and wood stove...which is very nice when the dive is over.

Ice Diving going on there pretty much every weekend...There was a crew expected from Montreal this past weekend but they were not there on Sat.

Many of the LDS run their Ice Diving courses at the Quarry as well.

I believe Martin is not available next weekend... But we will likely be going out again on Sat the 7th Feb... You are welcomed to join us...

Come on out and blow some bubbles with us and help me out with my Back Finning...

Cheers
