Got a crew together and dove Toilet Bowl, one of the more advanced shore dives on island.

It’s a cool site because you have to climb over a field of jagged lava rocks to get to the entry point where it immediately drops to 8ft or so. The drop is pretty steep and ends at about 130ft.

Fish were okay, and there were a bunch of jellyfish, but with jelly fish come sea turtles! We found a pretty sizable green sea turtle swimming ever so slowly away from gorging itself on jellyfish.

Conditions were good enough to spot a shark at 50m or so.

2 deep dives in great conditions, 👍
Envious. Kadena is where I was certified, long long ago.

Lake Superior on a photo dive. A week earlier, this spot had strangely linear sand waves that I figured would make a cool shot. It looked totally different this day, but I set up my tripod for a selfie nonetheless.

It was sunny and in the low 30s, the water clear and well, cold. 34°F.

I solo dived Yellow Brick Road off Hollywood Beach, FL. Water was a hazy blue 30 ft vis and a temp of 74. Even with a 5mm and hood, I got chilled. Max depth 22 ft, came back with lots of air after a 2:20 minute bottom time.

The day you posted this - last Saturday, I finished the last two dives for my PADI Deep Diving Certification. Table Rock Lake, Missouri near the dam. Once we dropped below about 50 feet, it was pitch black. Had fun though, learned a lot.
I have not dove at Table Rock yet, but I want to get over there some time. This weekend, I will be finishing my sidemount cert at Beaver Lake.

I'll be at Beaver Saturday just to dive for fun with a friend. I was there last weekend finishing my Rescue class which was also my last requirement to finish Master Diver.

I have my sidemount class the first weekend in June.

When you're ready to check out Table Rock, let me know. There are some decent spots. Even though vis is frequently less than ideal, I had a couple of dives about a month ago where we had good light down to 90 feet and some surprisingly good vis. I think that's rare. Last Monday (Apr 28th), vis was 3 feet, but there were so many fish I didn't care.

We will be down there all weekend between Indian Creek and the Scuba Park north of the dam. Maybe we will bump into each other.

I'll be at the Scuba Park all day Saturday unless something changes. I'm hard to miss - 6'2", 300+ pounds, driving a black Suburban. I also dive a backplate and wing with a Hollis wing and harness so you'll see the red on the wing.
