We went to Southern Leyte in mid December a few years ago, the weather was great and the diving plus whalesharks was stunning. We have seen whalesharks in the Maldives and twice in Oslob, and the experience in Leyte was the best in terms of how few people were there. We also did Bohol once in early January and the weather was quite wet and windy, but diveable. Locals seemed surprised that it was so wet.Balicasag was brilliant. Centrals has way more experience of travelling around, but our December trip included Christmas and was superb. Cannot wait to go back.

Best time to travel in the country is Apr to mid May. A bit late for the NE Monsoon or early for typhoon.

Yet there is a typhoon passing by the Philippines atm. Fortunately will only bring some rain. Hope it brings some rain to Taiwan as we need it here.

I have clients in Manila who have offices running 24 hours a day. Difficult for them now as there is a lockdown going on.
