I just bought a Tektite 400 LS LED light and tried to use it this past weekend.

I put in the batteries that they provided with the light, turned it on and it worked. I switched it off, popped it in my BC pocket and off I went. When I got to depth (about 100ft) I pulled it out to use and.....nothing. So I used my spare for the dive (sigh).

When I got back on the boat, I took it out of my BC pocket and it was warm to the touch considering it had just been in 68F water. The batteries were too hot for me to touch. The batteries were in correctly (about 4 people from my dive boat checked that - and it had worked before the dive).

There was no water in it.

Any ideas what could be the problem? (it's pink but that's NOT the problem!)

Diverlady,

You can return the light by mail to us (without the batteries) to be checked out. It's possible that (and sounds like) one of the batteries internally shorted out, but it's better that we check the light for damage.
