We're all different. For me, it's easier to remember only the one superset (the ideal gas law) and just strike out any variable which doesn't vary. Others' MMV.
That's fair. I'm the opposite when it comes to learning something for the first time. I like knowing how all the parts fit together and then just remembering the overall sum
 
As a side note, you can do PADI's dive theory at any point, but you will need to repeat it or have completed it within a year of starting DMT or your IDC.
