I just came back from SoCal and had an awesome time diving Catalina. We went to Sphinx Rock for the first spot and a second spot which the name escapes me right now. The viz was really good. The water was like glass on top. There were garibaldi, lobster, nudibranchs and one of my dive buddies even saw an octopus. The boat was fast, the crew was friendly and a very good first dive experience at Island Time. Oh, we even saw a whale on the way back to Long Beach. Thanks to all for your posts.

I'm glad to hear that. The dive up in Ventura was a bust. We went out to Santa Cruz and hoped that the island would block out the wind, but it didn't so we turned around with no dive.
