Trip Report Islamorada Alligator reef 8-15-22

Great surface conditions.From the boat the viz looked great top down
under the surface blah 25 feet at best and very dusty/snowy
water temp 85 no current
Great fish life and a stange encounter with a trunk fish(buffalo trunkfish)
Followed me and tried nipping me a few times. Tried to get away but kept coming after me
Had to push him off with the strobe a few times till it finally got the message
Nice pod of dolphins on the surface

Beautiful barracuda shot; I like it when they have their patterns turned on.

I had no idea a trunkfish might try to bite somebody unprovoked. Wonder if they guard nests?

I was taking a pix of a crab when it showed up next to me
