I was meaning to post this earlier, but, been busy..

Jan 24th and 25th, I went down to Islamorada for a weekend of diving fun. 2 tank morning dive, then a night dive on the 24th, then another 2 tank morning dive Sunday.

Had a great time with the folks at Rainbow reef. Their website is at: http://www.rainbowreef.us/

Ended up staying in Florida City... I was going to be late getting down there on Friday night. And.. it's only about 45 min or so down to RR.

Had lunch both days, just a 'block' away at Hog's Heaven. Nice patio overlooking the water. Good food too. :)

Water temp was just about 72, viz was pretty good too... 50+ feet I would guess?

Dive 1 and 2 were at 'rocky top' and the 'maze' .. these spots are not listed on their website. When I checked back into the shop after the dive, they asked if there was anywhere I wanted to go... I had seen about 'alligator reef' on their website and they said... 'sure'.

Dive 3 was a night dive back at the 'maze'. MUCH better dive at night. Saw about 5 spotted eels and 3 sting rays! Also pretty cool was the little shrimps that were attracted to my tourch, much like the little bugs are attracted to streetlights.

Dive 4 was an the Eagle wreck. This wreck was split in half by a hurricane. Down to about 100ft or so. Nice wreck. Dive 5 was the best at 'alligator reef'. Spotted eel, moray eel, nurse sharks, sponges, lobsters, and other critters, dive buddy that had to come up to puke... haha. We ended up going past the boat... but... the weather was clear, and really, I didn't mind laying on my back on the surface kickin back to the boat.

Well.. I took at couple of pictures... some came out ok. Lazy me didn't get around to naming them... so just shoot me a message if you wanna know more. On 2 shots.. lots of backscatter... it happens sometimes. haha

Anyway... enjoy the pics...

Would I go back and use Rainbow Reef again... you betcha! :)

Cheers,
