Is there one OK shore dive near Akumal?

We have enjoyed great snorkeling right off the beach in Akumal. The water is quite shallow for a couple of hundred yards off the beach, there is an abundance of life, and really nice elkhorn coral formations.
This last May was our 6th straight year visiting the Mayan Riviera, staying everyehere from Cancun, Puerto Morelos, PDC, Puerto Aventuras, and Akumal. All of the dives that I have done there were either boat dives or cenotes.

A good suggestion is a night snorkel at Yal Ku lagoon, located at the North end of the Akumal area.
