Is there anyone who've done part of the Divemaster or IDC in sidemount configuration?

I'll be going for the recreational sidemount course next month and since chances for me to dive aren't that many which means chances to practice in sidemount configuration is even lower, will it be possible to do part of the Go Pro courses in sidemount IF I spent the money to get my own gear? Has anyone done this before?

I understand that as a divemaster or instructor, I'll be required to demonstrate certain skills which require the conventional backmount configuration but how about those that don't?

This was printed in PADI's training bulletin for the third quarter of 2012:

"PADI Sidemount Divers (or those with qualifying training) may use sidemount equipment in other PADI courses as well, as long as the course performance requirements can be met while using sidemount. Exceptions include the PADI Divemaster course and the IDC."

Oh ok. I guess that answers everything perfectly. Grazie WheelsUSN!
