If isn't the hose, it is the shrader fitting that cannot supply the necessary flow rate for a breathing supply.

Local tech who services most of the gear for dive shops in the area, as well as being closely associated with Huish / Atomic, told me the standard LP inflator hose with an adapter won't provide sufficient air flow for an SS-1 or Air 2. I didn't bother asking him details at the time, but for some reason flow limitations through the Schrader valve provide way less air flow than an SS-1 or Air 2 hose. A friend put the Zeagle version of an Air 2 on his wing, kept the same inflator hose and used an adapter and wasn't very happy with how the thing breathedI saw this at the LDS, but the tech cautioned that the standard inflator head can't properly support the increased pressure that the air2/SS1 LP hose provides (450 vs 250 psi if memory serves).
I'm thinking the overall answer is a resounding NO for just simple interchangability of the heads on the same hose. Thanks!
The adapter for your SS1 hose takes it from the SS1 hose down to a regular K-type inflator, not the other way around. You won't be trying to breathe from the K-type inflator, will you?
That's exactly how it works with my scubapro AIR2, sounds reasonable for the similar Atomic SS1 to be the same.In fact, last time I own a Atomic SS1 hose, I remember the quick release fitting can be screwed off. It is just a SS1 fitting onto a regular but Atomic brand LP hose. Since you are swapping SS1 anyway, you can simple take off that fitting and put a regular inflactor fitting on the hose.
Ha, no not at all! Here's what I was trying to accomplish <snip>
