Hi,

Absolutely do Stingray City or Sandbar. BUT, if at all possible, don't do it when there are a lot of cruise ships in port. Ship Schedules We've done both the snorkel and the dive. Each has it's own positives and negatives. If anyone in your group does not dive, do the snorkel. Stingray City is a social activity, not really a dive per se'. Do it with a group of friends or acquaintances, the more the merrier. The fun is in the reactions of people who are less than enthused by the prospect of being near a ray.

Have fun!

Our first trip to Cayman we missed Stingray City due to wind & current but got to snorkel the Sand Bar right before we got on the plane back to NYC. I was really glad I at least got that experience because it was unique and made me really want to dive SRC. When we were in GC again in March we got that opportunity and it was way better, IMO, that snorkeling because it was so much easier, less crowded and more pleasant to observe and interact with the Rays. As someone who almost missed the experience I'd say anyone curious about SRC should check it out at least once.
