I bought a Sony P5 with the Marine pack just before I left for Aruba for the week of March 23 - 31. It was great underwater, and the size is perfect. I didn't have time to get the filter or light but I am very happy with the photos. I took about 100 pics underwater. Plus with photoshop to clear up and adjust levels the pictures just rock. The downside is the battery life, I am not sure about the Canon but the P5 seems pretty short. No problem though just buy a couple of batteries.

Yes, the battery life is short on the P5 if you are running the viewer display all the time. The key is to run it in powersave mode or turn it off right away when you aren't using it. I actually just bought an extra battery pack for my P5 this week.

Here is one of my first pics with a Sony P5. Overall I have been pretty happy with it.
