Hi PK:

I dive at Nubble often and have dove at all tide levels. I tend to plan my dives for high tide, because I like to make my first dive deep. You can hit nearly 80 at high tide, depending on the direction you go in. Because of the cool spring and lack of direct consistent sun shine, there have been no algae blooms. So the visibility has been very good. However I do find that when the visibility is going to be poor, it is always better at low tide. The out going tide seems to drag out all the turbid water and leave you with better viz. But the visibility has been great both high and low this year.

Low tide isn't much different at Nubble vs. High tide. However the rocks tend to be a bit slick at low tide. If you're diving at low tide; I've found you get the best traction on the little muscle beds on the rocks.

Spectre is very correct. I failed to mention that the rocks are very slick at low tide. I have seen more than one diver take a fall while heading into the water. Especially if there is some surf going on.
