is my ys110a behaving correctly?

With my ys110a set to TTL and slave, with a rx100m2 and fiber optic sync, when I turn the adjustment knob below the first triangle(non solid), the strobe appears to fire very strongly, over exposing the subject. From first triangle to max appears to be the actual min->max.

Is that the correct behavior in ds-ttl? I would have expected min to be the actual min, which appears to be the case when I switch to manual mode...

Set mode switch to TTL, slave mode to ON power knob full
After that in order to TTL to work you need to aim directly at the subject so that the camera gets a strobe return
DS-TTL has been changed quite a bit by sea and sea since their YS-110a so if the above don't work you may have a compatibility issue though sea and sea do include it in the YS-01 and YS-D1 table

Thanks interceptor. With modes TTL / slave on / knob on max, it seems to expose properly, its just the micro adjustment dimming part that I'm trying to understand.

When I go below the non solid triangle, it bumps up the output significantly and over exposes my picture...

Uhm maybe not as compatible I guess?

In ttl mode you get a "micro adjust" capability which implies the knob works differently than in manual mode.

You are not directly controlling the strobe flash duration. Sea & sea does not tell us what micro adjust reLly means.

Maybe turning it down too far confuses your camera? (Or the strobe)

hmm... anyone else have a ys110a / rx100(or m2) to confirm my unit isnt behaving wonky ?

I have had a read into the YS-D1 instructions and there are two modes one is DS-TTL and the other is slave t/l
I believe in a similar fashion your strobe is working in slave TTL and for that function the dimming of the light intensity is not available
You may want to contact sea and sea to confirm but that seems consistent with your experience
