planning first trip to bonaire. looking at second week of june possibly. is june a good time for diving bonaire? like.........no jellyfish spawn or something like that, good weather, good vis, etc. ? comments/experience please. also........are the beaches too hard on your feet to walk, lay out on the beach etc? sharp little coral, right??? or is there a place or too where there's a nice sandy beach??? probably won't matter, as we'll be diving all the time, but that last day before flying we may want to chill on the beach. thanks in advance everyone.

'09 will be my third year in a row going in June. Air temps are nice, water temps are constantly 81-ish. The only issue with jellies are when the sea wasps visit ten days after a full moon. Makes night diving a bit too risky for me. Our first year was affected by the wasps. Last year wasn't and in the one week we spent 35 hours underwater! Who needs sleep when you are in Bonaire?

There are some very nice beaches (The Lake and Bachelor Beach just to name two), and a couple of resorts have nice beaches, too.

Looking for surface fun the day before flying? Check out the Blo-Karts on the wild side. A total hoot!

thanks all! well, we were looking at the week of june 15th,2009,and lo and behold, the sea wasps will be out then, so we're gonna look at some other dates. i have sensitive skin, and am allergic to fire ants for sure, so i really don't want to go into anaphylactic shock from a jellyfish sting. if they will be out in force , then i think i'd better pick a different week:):) so, when it's not the 8 or 10 days after the full moon, or whatever it is......the rest of the time......no sea wasps at all? or some, but few and far between??? thanks in advance
