I'm coming off of an 8 year UW film photog habit and not convinced the UW digital still is for me, but looking into Video. Is HD video stable enough were I to buy top of the line equipment and not regret it in 2 years?

I've heard the 1080i vs 720p debates so thought I should ask - possibly just going into a nice, compact 3 chip DVT machine.

Opinions are most appreciated.
Thank you,

Scott

I don't think so. Wait a while for the standards to settle.

720p/1080i/1080p... What frame rate?? Can you burn a HD DVD yet?? NOPE. BTW, don't even ask a TV engineer about true HD transmission, it does NOT exist. It is compressed to 45MB/sec.

Some people MUSt have the newest and greatest. If you either A) have lots of $$ or B) like paying credit card bills, go for it.

Sorry, desktop video looks mighty poor to me.
