I too was banned a long time ago along with some others at the same time, without warning. We were admittedly getting out of hand but one single warning would have shut us all down.

Actually Dennis... we were warned... and we did shut it down... but the warning came like 60-90 seconds prior to receiving the email that said we'd received a vacation.... and it at least seem to come across unilaterally.. but that could have just been my perception.

However... I think one of the positives that came out of that episode was lots of positive discussion and the creation of an opt-in Surface Interval forum.

It seems the JAW JACKING goes on by the members of the board that have the most post.I have only been on a short while but from my limited observations some people have been banned more than once. These people still seem to have a problem with the way things are done.
Did that piss you off, who cares this board is run by people that have to deal with all types of people from all backgrounds!!
Its discouraging that I have only been a member a few months and can see a pattern of the same people complaining about MODS the whole time.
I can tell you the people that get the most from the board are the ones that have been here the least.
It's really discouraging to get so much info from so many members that have 3 or 5 or 10 or 15 thousand posts and then find these threads about them bickering about why or someone else was banned.
There are so many smart people here to help the dumb divers like us that it seems a waste to let egos or whatever get in the way.
I have gotton so much info from this site but have heard so much bull its getting old.

well, belive it or not, i think these threads exist because people care for the Board and want to make it a better place

of course, disagreement as to how best to do that is bound to happen

for some reason, winters always bring bickering amongst the members ... probably our version of cabin fever
