We are planning to go to some beach in the north east part of the US. Most people are not divers and want to lay back on the beach and have some swim. Do you guys know what the conditions are on Cape Cod, and probably surrounding areas in New England, temperature wise and what beaches are the best?

Thanks a lot.

Not sure when you plan on going to the Cape, but water conditions are normally 60-65 degrees. Sandwich Town Beach is a good shore dive. Try calling the local dive shops and they can suggest dives. Cape Dive Locker is in Hyannis and they have a charter boat that goes to many local dive spots.
Have a great trip!

Water temperature in Cohasset (between Boston and Cape Cod) was 68 degrees at the surface yesterday.

Be aware that Matt's talking about Massachusetts Bay water temps. Buzzards Bay temps will be comparable but the Outer Capes eastern shore from Chatham to P-town will be cold. Bone chilling cold. Plan your beachgoing accordingly. The Cape Cod National Seashore is gorgeous but the water will cause some serious shrinkage.

Hey, not to hijack, but where can I dive on Cape Cod? I'm going to be in Wellfleet in August and, while my wife will probably not let me, I want to see if I can take half a day or a day and blow some bubbles. Fresh water, salt water, doesn't matter. I'm fairly new, having just gotten my OW in a quarry and did a week in the Caribbean, now going for my AOW in a few weeks.

Any recommendations on dive ops and sites on the Cape would be much appreciated.
