Is $438.00 good for a BP/W with trimmings?

Here's what I'm looking at getting:

OMS 35lb wing $200.00
Deluxe harness $45.00
Hammerhead plate and heavy STA $99.00
OMS Weight pockets (2) $38.00
SS Cambuckles and straps (2) $56.00

Total $438.00 not including shipping.

About the best deal I can find for a BP/W to use with primarily singles in cold Kali water.

Any other recommendations?

Looks like a good deal - you could save a little by getting your cambands from Scubal.com ($11 - 2 nylon/plastic) and XSScuba weight pockets ($9 each from leisurepro.com)

Another option is the singles rig from DSS - $445 http://www.deepseasupply.com/page12.html - I've yet to hear anything bad about their gear - and MUCH good about it :D

Aloha, Tim

My main issue with the Maximus (Scubal) rig is the variable (and extremely large) 90# lift bladder, and I'm still a little leary of the horseshoe design (I know DSS employs this design as well and it has not been an issue for users)

The price of Scubal gear is incredible, and they do make solid products. You might also look at the Maximus Senior http://www.scubal.com/content/index.php?proid=1158&catid=313&procatid=230 as it comes with pockets as well.

You can always change out the wing in the future if you're not happy with it and upgrade too.

Aloha, Tim

P.S. you can also contact them about a plate/harness rig without the wing and add a wing of your choice.

That wing looks HUGE for a singles rig -- it looks as big as a doubles wing, and why would you ever want 90 pounds of lift in a singles wing?

btw - Just to give them the benefit of the doubt ... the wing is actually a 40# lift wing... which can stretch to 90#. So the effects on streamlining should be minimal, but I wonder how the "stretchy" shell will hold up, along with the possibility of uncontrollable runaway ascents (unlikely if you're on top of your bouyancy, but it's something to consider)

Aloha, Tim

Why would you ever need 90 lbs of lift in a doubles wing?

Did everyone look at the prices of the wetsuits? They are extremely cheap!!

I'm ready to try out one of their suits. Anyone ever use their suits?
