Forgive me for being stupid, but how/where do I install the Sigmatel USB-IRDA Dongle Driver??

It plugs into the respective USB port on your laptop / computer.
If you only have USB C ports you may need a USB C to A adaptor.

I'm sorry, you've lost me. I'm referring to the actual Sigmatel driver software which I downloaded from the link you put up. I have the Scubapro Smarttrak Dongle which I always used to download the dives from my Dive Computer in to Smarttrak on a Windows 10 Computer.

My bad, I thought you were referring to the physical device.
For the driver, in windows, open device manager, find the dongle in the device list, right click and you will see an option to update driver, browse to the location where you downloaded the driver.

Excellent. Thanks, I will try it out. Sorry to mess you around and waste your time.

Nothing to be sorry about.
I always say, "the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask" lol.
Good luck with this.

Hi there,
I am facing the same problem. I have installed the driver suggested above (and it was a PITA to get W11 to accept it despite the missing signature), but W11 refuses to use it with my Sitecom IRDA device. Does anyone know any trick to tell W11 that the driver and the device belonmg together?
Thank you in anticipation!

I had a similar problem with irDA on Win 11. After downloading the appropriate driver, Device Manager still showed the dreaded yellow triangle and exclamation mark. This set-back was finally solved when I updated all my USB drivers. Now I can easily transfer all my dives from my Galileo Luna dive computer to DiveLog on my laptop via my Polar irDA dongle!
I read the excellent thread on IRDA with Windows 10, but am having trouble making this work with Windows 11. I have enabled the optional IRDA stack, and rebooted. I own the UWATEC IRDA USB dongle, and every time it's coming up with "Unknown device" in the device manager. I have tried deleteing the unknown device and searching for new hardware - same result.

The 3rd party drivers that I am seeing don't seem to have any support for Windows 11 and I don't want to download a lot of them for them only not to work.

Has anyone else had any luck with this? I would love to get my new dives out of my SmartCom! I would love it if someone could share their knowledge of this to help others of us that are still quite happy with our SmartComs! :-)

Thanks in advance!
