Can I mount Dive Rite travel wings on an OMS IQ pack without a BP and STA? I'm trying to put together a lightweight rec./travel setup. Also would there be any problems slipping a BP into the IQ pack later if I didn't have a STA?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Use an aluminium plate and mount it that way. I can't think how you would attach a cylinder securely without an STA. An aluminium plate weighs less than a kilo.

I use a Halcyon pioneer setup and it travels fine, even with the stainless steel plate. Underwater you don't feel it and you can get away without a weight belt depending on your wetsuit.

Its strange but you'll find that a wing and SS backplate don't weigh that much more than a Jacket BC in your dive bag so its light enough to travel with.

Kindest Regards
