working now in civil service. The security of a check for breathing allows me to be quite open and honest with my bosses - not always for their pleasure. When one decided he could exempt himself from the policies about smoking in the workplace, I proved to him that he couldn't. Somehow, following that, some folks would refer to me as A-hole with a pension. And it fit.
