So I went diving with my newer (only 4 freshwater dives) G260/Mk19Evo/620ti octo on 01/13 and 01/14/22 four salt water dives in total. After 01/13 I rinsed off the regulator first stage and soaked the second stage for around 30 minutes or so and periodically replaced the water with fresh water. I did this to my better half's Atomic ST1/Z2 octopus as well as another divers Z3/Z2 Atomics reg. Also rinsed the second stages for about 45 minutes on 01/14 then had to pack the gear up. Approximately 7 days later after getting home I hooked up the Atomic ST1/Z2 and it performed beautifully. I hooked up the G260/Mk19evo/620ti and the 620ti was completely normal. However the G260 was pretty difficult to breathe from. Nothing like the WOB from the four dives. The adjust knob was out all the way on all the regs. So I soaked the G260 again for 12 hours...no different. I took off the front cover, diaphragm and checked for any issues and found nothing. I then used my inline second stage adjustment tool and adjusted my second stage G260 as well as the internal part of the G260 adjustment knob Allen head and now it is back to breathing normally. So my question is what caused the G260 to go out of spec???? I have already spoken with Rsingler about it and wanted to hear what SP users thought?? So far I have no clue what happened?? It didn't occur with 5 other second stages only with my G260?

Doyou have a way to measure Inhalation? What was it before and after adjustments?

Prior to the dive it was 1.1-1.2" on magnehelic. After it was around 1.7-1.8"....after I adjusted again it is back to 1.1-1.2".... I have never had a reg change like that. Also 5 other second stages had no changes including the 620ti octopus on my Mk19. The IP has not changed on the Mk19

That is strange hopefully it was a one time thing. The g260s I have serviced have always been pretty solid even after 15ish minutes on a quickset machine. Are you checking your inhalation on a 3000psi or 500psi tank? I haven’t worked on aMK19 yet but assume it has the same IP inversion as a MK17 or MK11.

It was a 3000 psi tank. I thought it was strange. It didn’t do that last time we dove in the Keys. I was really thrown off. I put the Atomic ST1 on the tank when we got home as I usually check everything and it was perfect. Then I did the G260 and I took a breath and went what the heck. So I checked to see if I had turned the adjustment knob in by chance and I hadn’t. It was pretty drastic almost like the adjustment knob was turned in 3/4 of the way. I readjusted it and so far so good.

A balanced second stage should not be effected by IP but in my experience there can be differences. Scubapro diaphragm regulators will usually have a higher IP on a 500psi tank (around 10psi) and the second stages should be checked and adjusted at that pressure.

I have a 500 PSI tank I can check on
