I'm going to Cozumel and Belize in May. Checking my options with locals verses ship excursions.

Two words about Belize (and Cozumel, of course):
EXCELLENT DIVES!

I'm not sure what your local options are in Belize. The cruise ships anchor there and if you book your dive with the cruise ship it has been my experience that the charter picks you up at the ships anchor and delivers you back to the boat.

I'll be at both of those locations in November so I'll try to bring a name or two back for you.

I've done some cruise diving before. The only thing to watch for is if you book through the cruise line, the transport is guaranteed. Whereas if you book on your own, and something happens and you are late to the ship for some reason, you're stuck. The ship will leave and you may have to pay to either catch it at the next port or hire a tender to take you to it.
