Hi Scuba girl,

Are you still diving the East Coast. If so I live in Dubai and have completed my advanced and Nitrox Courses and am looking for people to dive with. If you have room for one more person at any time you can give me a shout at cunning_qs@hotmail.com

Regards,

Ian

I am in dubai until 18th of october would be good if you can guide me to some good diving club, in dubai, my number is 0505959619 during my stay, cheers and good luck

Hi Faaz,

I would suggest al boom diving center located in jumeirah, and if you're going to the east coast then probably try the diving club at sandy beach hotel, or le meridien al aqah

Hope you enjoy

Regards,
Scuba Girl

Faaz,

In my experience the Pavilion Dive Centre is the most professional west coast diving but it is a bit dirty on the west coast due to all the dredging.

However, for the East Coast would recommend diving with Divers Down at the Oceanic Hotel Khorfalkaan.

I still considering whether I am up to it this weekend. Will give you a call if I do.

Ian

Hey Guys

I was in dubai in July and dived with both Al boom and Pavilion, Al boom do daily trips to the east coast, where as Pavilion were only running two trips a week to Oman and Fujarrah. Between the two, I thought Pavilion were a far more proffessional centre, I was really dissappointed by the guides with Al boom as they spent the whole dive pulling plant life and animals off the reefs and prodding everything in sight with crab hooks.

Definately dive the east coast though, as the vis and life was pretty poor I thought on the west coast.

HI Zfallah,

I may be late replying to your message but I just joined Scubaboard and very keen on diving in Dubai during my holidays from December 24 to Jan 30, 2007. I appreciate any information, advise or diving plans you might care to sugges.

Cheers

I just moved to Dubai and see that we have some local divers. It would be great to link up with a local group as I know nothing about diving in this part of the world.

Hi Wannadive123,

Welcome to Dubai,

I am still quite a new diver, only have about 40 dives and only started 6 months ago.
But I had some nice dives in the UAE.
I have never dived in Dubai or Sharjah, so I can't comment on that, but often the viz is not that great. Not much corals, but there are some wrecks out there.
Check with the local diving clubs, who organise trips every Friday.

I have meanly enjoyed my dives at the Eastcoast (2 1/2 hours drive from Dubai to Khor Fukkan) with Scuba2000 and Diversdown and my dives on a live-a-board in Musandam-Oman with Al Marsa.(2 1/2 hours drive from Dubai to Dibba and then 3 hours boat)
Also nice should be The Dalamayat Islands(protected area, nature reserve) in Oman, near to Muscat(4 hours drive from Dubai).
