I got an SPG, it basically comes with a spindle but no hose.

I assume any hose I buy will have the swivel connector. Is there a guide somewhere about how to put the pieces together (is one even needed?), or is this something I should just let the shop handle?

It should be something you can handle, but i'm not 100 percent sure. Go ask your shop...it couldnt hurt

There are 3 parts to the spg.
There is the gauge, the high pressure hose and the gauge stem.
You would insert the gauge stem into the bottom of the gauge, then thread the high pressure hose into the bottom of the gauge.
There are 2 o-rings on the stem, so make sure you use a little lube on the o-ring.
Christolube 111 works well for the lube , its o2 safe as well.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the description. I have the gauge and the gauge stem. Will a high pressure hose generally come with the "swiveling" part that will allow the gauge to rotate freely when connected?

This is a very easy and straightforward procedure, however I would compare HP spindles. The new one may be too short or long for the hose. Remember to lube the o-rings, christo-lube if using nitrox.
