1. Anyone flooded their strobe ? What do you do if it gets flooded, say battery compartment ? Does it just dry out or is it ruined for good ? (Sorry I've just bought one and would like to know what I should do in a worst case scenario)

2. Does anyone use the -1.5 diffuser ? In what situations do you use it ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I flooded a Z220....user error. The O-ring for the battery area was sticking outside of the plastic cap. The strobe was shot....I don't believe the battery compartment is totally sealed off.

I never use the -1.5 buy ALWAYS have the -0.5 on....personal preference.

HTH,
Dave

All of my friends and I just stick with the -0.5 diffusor.

The Inon strobes are pretty much bullet proof except for serious user error. You can clearly see if the O ring for the battery compartment is in place. The key is to lube up the O ring and put just a bit of the Inon grease on the mating surface on the inside of the cap.

Between the four divers at my place this past weekend we have over 700 dives on our Inon 220/240's without a single failure (knock on wood).
