I am setting up the Inon S2000 I just purchased to use with the Canon S90 while snorkeling, and am trying to keep things simple initially. For most uses, should I attach the diffuser that came with the strobe and just keep it attached? Thank you.

Yes. I think that the only time I take one off is to use it for a very focused fill where I am putting the strobe very close to the subject.
