Just bought an Inon D-2000 set for my Canon S70 today. Unfortunately, I won't get a chance to practice with it before my Komodo liveaboard trip in a few weeks. Of course I'll have a lot dive time to play with it once the trip begins... Like to hear if other D-2000 owners have any helpful hints/tips.

thanks,

Let see if I can help you.
When I start with the D-2000 I did exactly what the instruction manual was saying. Up to now I used about 25 times and I am quite happy with the results of the strobe.

I am working most of the time with aperture priority and set the strobe at low S-TTL. Then if I am not happy with the result instead of changing the setting on the camera (more complicate) I do it on the strobe increasing or decreasing the power/exposure (right knob).
If the increase of the exposure at the maximum is not enough you change the strobe to S-TTL and not Low-S-TTL anymore.

Soon I will start working with full manual setting on the camera but still with TTL on strobe.

This is what I can tell you about the setting.

If you need some advice on positioning just check those two web site. They give you some good advice.

azotomix,

thanks for advise and the links. I was planning on doing the same (start off with s-ttl on the strobe and aperture priority on the camera).

PS How do you like the Inon UWL100...? I guess that will be on my christmas list this year along with the macro lens...

I like it very much. But I have to say I did not use it at all by him self. I bought it but did not used it as I did dive for a while (Winter time). Then for my birthday (April) I bought the dome. Since them I use it only with it.

I still have to learn but here are some examples

This one was done with zooming too much. But I like the effect.

Also the mantas where shot with the dome.

The macro lens is new I did not had the opportunity to try it. I will do it for sure during my next trip in Malesia
